You do not need to have a desktop subscription version of Lightroom to import and use my mobile presets. This tutorial will explain how to import mobile only presets into the FREE mobile Lightroom app.
Step 1: Download the files.
Phoenix and the Ocean Mobile Presets must be downloaded to computer first before transferring the DNG files to your phone.
From the link in your email, download the compressed ZIP file onto your computer first. Locate the folder and double click to unzip. This will create a folder with the same name and your 12 mobile preset files inside.
If you downloaded my Desktop & mobile presets, you will find your mobile presets in one folder and your desktop presets in another. The mobile presets folder will contain the DNG image files inside. Each DNG file is a unique preset that you need to move to your phone and import into your mobile version of Lightroom.

You will need to transfer the mobile files (DNG files) to your phone to use the mobile version of the presets.
The easiest way to transfer your presets back to your phone is by dropbox. If you don’t have dropbox yet, click here – its free! To use dropbox, create a folder to put your presets into. Then drag and drop them into this folder and wait for them to sync. Open dropbox on your mobile and go into the folder where you saved your presets. Export each DNG file into your phone by clicking the three dots below the file. Then click Export, Save Image. Repeat steps and save all twelve DNG files to your phone.
[envira-gallery id=”1351″]Step 3: Import the DNG files into the Lightroom app.
Once you have saved all twelve of the DNG files to your phone’s camera roll, open the lightroom app. Create a new album and name it. Then open the new album, go to Add Photos and select all the DNG files from your camera roll and add them to the album.
To create a new Album, tap + and then Create New Album.
Tap on the 3 dots at the top right corner and then tap Add Photos.
Select all DNG files in your photo album and tap Add Photos.
[envira-gallery id=”1378″]Step 4: Create and Save your Presets.
Go into the album that has your newly imported DNG files. Open the first file, tap the 3 dots icon at the top right of the screen and then tap on Create Preset.
[envira-gallery id=”1384″]Then you will see the New Preset screen which contains all the options you can use to customize your preset. Name your preset. The checkboxes determine which settings you wish to save with this preset. Only the settings you click here will be applied to images with this preset. I check all boxes except tools, optics and geometry. Finally, tap the checkmark icon on the top right corner.
Repeat this step for each DNG file as you need to save them each separately. Once you are done, you won’t need to do this again.
Step 5: Using your presets:
To use your new presets, go back into your library and open any photo.
Find the presets icon in the bottom menu of the screen and tap on it. Make sure the preset group that’s selected is the one you saved them in the user presets group and select it.
[envira-gallery id=”1370″]Now you can edit your photo by tapping on a preset from the list. You can click on each preset to try each one and see which will work best on your photo. And remember, you can still continue to edit your photos after the preset is applied. Note that any edits you’ve made to the photo will be override by the preset. So, make sure you apply your preset first and then make additional editing if needed.
